Birds of a Feather Exhibit (Opens May 20th)
A gallery opening featuring a collection of striking bird portraits from the series, Birds of a Feather, a work of appreciation for feathered creatures and those that work to protect them. The photographic work pairs live birds with complementary historical and reproduction wallpaper and fabric, creating a captivating visual experience highlighting the individuality of each creature. The work will be shown in a centuries-old barn on the historic Warwick Furnace Farm property, where Claire and her family live and run a lavender farm. All ages welcome. Bird-themed outfits are encouraged.
The exhibit will open to coincide with the Chester County Studio Tour (studio #40) on Saturday May 20th from 10 am - 6 pm and Sunday May 21st from 11 am - 5 pm. On Saturday the 20th at 2 PM the artist will offer a demonstration with special feathered guests and share some insight into her creative process and working with creatures. Visitors will have the opportunity to view the exhibit and explore the artist's studio and home.
Limited edition prints, notecard sets and Rosen’s book, Imaginarium, will be available for sale. The Warwick Furnace Farm store will also be open.

ARTIST STATEMENT
There is a wonder in the moments lost in contemplation of nature, admiring the celestial choreography of the birds, or being enchanted by their symphonies. Human fascination with birds is a thread we can follow back at least 40,o00 years, when we first immortalized them in cave drawings. The walls of the imperial villas of Ancient Rome were adorned with frescoes detailing rich flora and fauna. During the Renaissance, Rafael reinvented this ancient style through his grotesques, which depict birds, fruits, and plant life. In 19th century Britain, William Morris re-imagined birds and flora as carefully crafted wallpaper that ornamented Victorian homes.
Birds of a Feather offers a new perspective on this tradition with portraits of live birds photographed against complementary historical and reproduction wallpaper and fabric.
